Book Tracker Pro for Obsidian Bases | 7 Progress Bar Styles | 366 literary quotes | 42 genre icons and more!
"I wish someone would just give me a beautiful and already working book tracking database."
You've seen these luxury book galleries on YouTube and on r/ObsidianMD. You've spent hours trying to recreate them for yourself. The images are not displayed. The properties are confusing. But you just want to keep track of the books you've read, not become a database engineer.

I created(a) the base that he himself dreamed of seeing when Bases appeared in Obsidian. Book Tracker Pro is a ready—made solution: it's beautiful by default and allows you to start keeping track of your reading in less than 15 minutes.

You get a complete system.:
- Book Tracker Base with 7 styles of progress indicators (books, stars, hearts, circles, squares, files, bookmarks)
- 366 literary quotes — one for each day of the year (yes, even on leap day)
- 38 banners (libraries, vintage books, cozy reading scenes and a cat — because Cats)
- 42+ genre icons for fiction and non-fiction literature
- 6 Web Clipper templates to import from Goodreads, StoryGraph and Audible in one click
- 2 hand-made templates (fiction and non-fiction)
- Daily Note template with reading tracking
- 14 examples of book cards so that you can see what it can do.
- Detailed quick start guide and other useful guides
- Video analysis, which shows step by step how to install and configure everything
- Bonus: The complete Lucide Icon Directory — all 1,640 icons built into Obsidian, with search and code to copy directly into notes

What does this system allow you to do?
- Import books from Goodreads, StoryGraph and Audible libraries in one click
- Track reading progress without opening tables
- View the TBR list as a beautiful visual gallery
- Record books that are not on Goodreads
- Integrate reading into the workflow of daily notes
- Search for reading history by genre, year, or rating
- See which books you started or finished today in every daily note — automatically
- Your entire reading life is in one place, with search and customization options.

Why Book Tracker Pro works
- No learning curve for Dataview
It uses the built-in Obsidian plugins: Templates and Daily Notes. If you can click a button, you can add a book.
- Works in new and existing repositories
Add it to a completely new storage, and everything works right away. No pre-settings and no conflicts with your current system.
- Import from Goodreads, StoryGraph and Audible in seconds
Web Clipper templates save the title, author, cover, description, ISBN — all in one click.
- Change the visual style at any time
Switch between 7 styles of progress indicators by changing one line. Today — hearts, tomorrow — stars, next week — bookmarks.
- 366 daily quotes
Every day of the year receives a unique literary quote. Even on February 29th. Because why not?
- Genre icons are displayed automatically
Mark the book with the "mystery" tag and an icon will appear. Mark "sci-fi" and it will be updated. More than 42 genres are supported.

Your reading life automatically appears in your daily notes.
The included "Reader's Day" template turns every daily note into a reading dashboard. The books that you started or finished today appear automatically. The list of books you are currently reading is updated in real time. Every morning you are greeted by a new literary quote. You can see the "Started this week" and "Completed this month" sections without creating any links. This is what makes people really use the book tracker, rather than forget about it somewhere in a folder.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is it for?
For everyone who reads books and uses Obsidian. If you want to track your reading without studying Dataview or creating a system from scratch, this is for you.

What do I need to make it work?
Obsidian version 1.9.0 and higher (for the Bases function), the built-in Templates plugin is included (it is already there, you just need to enable it), as well as the Web Clipper browser extension if you want to import data from Goodreads or StoryGraph (optional).

Does this work in my existing storage?
Yes. Just add it and everything works. No conflicts with the current setting. It works equally well in both new and existing repositories.

Do I need to know the code or formulas?
No. Everything is already assembled. You press buttons or use keyboard shortcuts and add books or notes. CSS styles, progress indicator formulas, and Base views are already set up for you.

, How do I install it?
Download the zip file, unzip it, and drag the "Book Tracker Base" folder to your Obsidian storage. Open the main Base file and you are ready to add books.

What if I don't use Goodreads, StoryGraph, or Audible?
Use manual templates (Fiction and Nonfiction). They are suitable for any book — self-published, rare editions, memoirs about cats written by your pet sitter, for anything.

Is it possible to adjust the progress indicators and colors?
Yes. You can switch between 7 styles of progress indicators by changing one word in the database file. The documentation specifies exactly which line to edit.

What if I break something?
You have the original zip file. Just unpack it again. Or write to me — I am responding to support requests, the email is listed in the quick start guide.
